Kaanha Saarthi (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a spiritual AI chatbot that provides divine wisdom from Lord Krishna through the Bhagavad Gita. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our application at app.kaanha.guru.
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
When you create an account with email and password, we store your email address, name (optional), and a securely hashed version of your password (using bcryptjs). We never store your password in plain text. A verification email is sent to confirm your email address before you can sign in.
Your conversation history (messages you send and Krishna's responses) is stored in our database so you can access it later. You can delete individual conversations or your entire account at any time.
Signed-in users can save (bookmark) Krishna's teachings. These are stored in our database linked to your account.
We store your selected language preference (Hindi or English) to personalize your experience.
We automatically collect your IP address for rate limiting purposes (to prevent abuse). We do not use cookies for tracking — only for authentication session management.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing purposes.
Note: If you sign in with Google, your profile picture is loaded directly from Google's servers (googleusercontent.com) when displayed in the app.
Your account data and conversation history are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page within the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent. You may also contact us at privacy@kaanha.guru for data-related requests.
Specific retention periods:
We use essential cookies only for authentication (session management). These cookies are httpOnly and secure. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies.
We implement appropriate security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure cookie handling, and database access controls to protect your personal data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
